Key Terms and Conditions of Carriage

When ordering our services, you (the “Shipper”) are agreeing, on your behalf and on behalf of the consignee of the shipment (“Consignee”), and anyone else with an interest in the Shipment, that these Terms and Conditions shall apply.  A full copy of our Terms and Conditions of Carriage can be obtained by requesting it through addresses or email below.

Scope of service 
Safara Holdings Limited (the “Carrier”) agrees to transport goods as described in each shipment order or bill of lading (the “Shipment”) accepted under this Agreement. The transport services include:

1. Pickup of goods from the Shipper’s location.
2. Transportation of goods to the destination specified by the Shipper.
3. Delivery of goods to the designated recipient.

Terms of payment
Full payment for each Shipment is to be made on delivery, and prior to the Shipment being offloaded. We reserve the right to request a down payment before each Shipment, the amount of which shall be communicated beforehand.  The Shipper is responsible for any charges involved in making payment to the Carrier for the Shipment.

Responsibilities of the Carrier
The Carrier is responsible for ensuring that the goods are transported with due care, the persons involved in the transportation of all goods are professionally trained and licensed to perform their duties, and that all vehicles used in the execution of our services are insured and roadworthy.

Responsibilities of the Shipper
The shipper is responsible for taking out appropriate insurance covers including but not limited to Goods in Transit insurance cover, covering all risks, OR assume the risk of loss if such insurance is not taken out. 

The shipper is responsible for ensuring that the items shipped are as stated in the bill of lading or any such document, and that they are not in breach of any applicable laws n the countries through which the Shipment is carried.

Delay charges
On arrival at any border crossing, a charge of USD 100 per day, or part thereof, will be levied after 24 hours for any delays that are not the responsibility of the Carrier.

On arrival at the destination, a charge of USD 100 per day, or part thereof, will be levied after 48 hours for any delays in offloading the Shipment and, where applicable, returning the shipping container to the Carrier.

Other charges
Other charges may apply to each Shipment and are the responsibility of the Shipper. These include, but are not limited to:  

Electronic and mechanical seals, crane hire, customs fees, parking fees (payable while waiting to load or offload), handling charges, overweight charges.
